Snake Gourd Curry

Ingredients for Snake gourd Curry   

                                                 
    1 cup of washed moong, chopped snake gourd and few garlic pods, coking oil and mustard seeds, chopped onions, tomatoes and coriander leaves, jeera powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, methi powder, Daniya powder. 



Step 1 : Heat the pan with 1 tsp of ghee.




Step 2 : Roast the moong dal till the raw smell goes off.




Step 3: In a pressure cooker add chopped snake gourd and roasted moong.




Step 4: Once out of cooker let it cook for 5 mins.



Step 5: Once cooled, mash the dal using a churner.this gives smooth texture to the curry.



Step 6: Keep the dal mixture to boil, alongside start seasoning by heating a pan with oil and mustard seeds to crackle.




Step 7: Add chopped onions and saute until transparent.



Step 8: Add finely chopped tomatoes and fry until it leaves the juice.




Step 9: Add all the masala powders one by one starting with a  pinch of turmeric 1 tsp of chilli powder.





Step 10: Saute until the raw smell goes. 



Step 11: Add salt as per requirement & Mix this seasoning mixture with fully boiled snake gourd and dal.




Step 12: Mix well and allow it to get together by keeping in a simmer for a minute or two.




Snake gourd moong dal curry goes well with chapati, roti or rice
