Ingredients for Green Gram / Moong Bean Husli:
-Wash and soak green gram overnight or at least for 4 to 5 hours.
-Chopped onions, grated coconut, curry leaves and for seasonal taste 4-5 jack fruit seeds (if required) and red chilies.
Step 1: pressure cook green grams and jack-fruit seeds with equal amount of water and required salt for just one whistle.
Step 2: Drain the water in a seive.
Step 3: Take the dry part of grams. Don't discard the water is very nutritious rasam can be made using it.
Step 4: Peel the skin of cooked jackfruit seeds chop it into chunky bits keep it aside.
Step 5: Heat 2 tsp of oil once hot add 1/2 a tsp of mustard seeds, let it splutter.
Step 6: Add red chilies and curry leaves.
Step 7: Add chopped onions and saute for 1 min
Step 8:Add chopped jack-fruit seeds and fry about 2 mins.
Step 9: Add the green grams and fry for 1 min.
Step 10: Sprinkle grated coconut off the stove and mix.
Green Gram Husli is ready to eat. Tastes best with thick curds or as a side dish with rice as a salad.
